Tom E. Gunn’s Workout Diary – Week 2 [SPONSORED]
Well, my second full week of workouts is drawing to a close, and I'm happy to report that I'm not dead. Not only am I not dead, I'm seeing actual results.
Let me set the record straight, though. I'm not really paying attention to my weight. As a matter of fact, Bruce (my fitness guru down at Thrive Gym in Coralville) tells me that watching the scale isn't really all that effective. You see, as we lose fat while working out, we gain muscle, which actually weighs more, so if you keep your eyes on that magic number, you might actually get discouraged. Where I am seeing a difference is my belt.
Yes, my belt! In just two weeks of working out 30-45 minutes a day, three times a week, I am seeing a difference in how tight my belt is around my waist. I didn't have to go to the gym 5 hours a day every day and eat nothing but sticks and grass to achieve a result. I show up, do the easy workouts that are written on the wall, take a shower in my own private bathroom and go home (or work...they have very convenient hours that accommodate any schedule). That's it. I've already graduated to heavier weights and a more active workout. To top it all off, I feel better and better after each session!
