As "majestic" as Mt. Trashmore is, this is the time of year where small mountains appear nearly everywhere.

Making assumptions about a group of people is usually wrong, but not in this case.

I was driving along the big shopping strip in Coralville the other day, and I realized there was something missing. Maybe not missing from an Iowan's perspective, but to someone who recently moved from Louisiana, there is definitely at least one type of store that just isn't anywhere to be found in the Hawkeye state.

Changes happen without you noticing. You don't see little differences here and there, but once you realize things have changed, it can surprise you. That's how I feel at the end of week 3 at Thrive Gym in Coralville.

I have, what one would say, an obsessive attention to detail. It's not a bad quality to have, especially when you work in any artistic field. That attention to detail, however, sometimes causes me to have a small fit when I see something that is out of place.

Well, my second full week of workouts is drawing to a close, and I'm happy to report that I'm not dead.

I know what you're going to say..."It's only January...how can you have learned ANYTHING about winter in the Midwest?" Well, these are just initial observations.
