Hello! Thanks for stopping by my page. I'm a native Cedar Rapidian and a graduate of the University of Iowa. When I’m not at the station, I can be found hanging out with my rough collie, Velvet, and a cat named Coop. I love exploring NewBo and going to concerts and shows of all kinds. Aside from the Hawks, I love the Bulls, Bears, and White Sox. I also have a soft spot for the Los Angeles Dodgers. (I’ve even been to a game at Dodger Stadium!)

Should We Be Worried?
The University of Iowa men's basketball team played an exhibition game last Friday night against Division II Augustana University.
The Hawks lost, 76-74.
That's not good. But should we be worried?
First, it was an exhibition game. Which means it doesn't count...
Adults Shouldn’t Wear Costumes on Halloween
It's Halloween. The only day a person can dress up in a costume without looking stupid or deranged. Well, actually, let's talk about that.
New Music Monday
From time to time, I like to share new music with all of you loyal KRNA listeners. Most times, I'll keep it to bands and artists that are fairly below the radar. I mean, we are "Cedar Rapids' and Iowa City's New Music Discovery." Welcome to New Music Monday:
If you're a fan of The National, their lead singer now has a side project...
Cedar Rapids Needs a Record Store
I've been to several cities around the Midwest this summer: Des Moines, Omaha, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Madison. Each city has cool bars, restaurants, shops, neighborhoods, and RECORD STORES. Which makes me wonder: Why doesn't Cedar Rapids?
Facebook Hoax Exposes Idiots
"There's a sucker born every minute."
Legend has it that phrase was uttered by David Hannum, a rival of the legendary showman P.T. Barnum, in criticism of Barnum and the customers attending his shows.
That famous line gets proven right every single day...
My Madison Adventure
What better time to write about my recent trip to Madison, Wis. than the week of the Iowa/Wisconsin game?
I went up to "Mad Town" about a week ago to see Father John Misty perform at the Orpheum Theatre. The venue was cool (think Paramount)...
The Best Music Venue in Iowa
There are plenty of places to choose from -- some big, others small. These are my top three spots, but I'm asking you: Where is the best place to see live music in Iowa?
Iowa Getting Alternate Uniforms
Did you do a double take when you read that headline?
It's true: Iowa is going to wear alternate uniforms for their Nov. 14th night game against Minnesota. And it sounds/looks like they're going to be real-deal alternate uniforms. Not those heinous atrocities they've trotted out in the past couple years...
My Favorite Song on KRNA
I listen to a lot of music on our airwaves. Our catalog of songs grows almost daily with new additions. Through all of it, one song has always been my favorite since I started with the station:
"Nutshell," by Alice in Chains.
The song was included on the band's critically acclaimed EP, Jar of Flies, released in 1994...
Why I Gave Up My Iowa Basketball Season Tickets
All the talk recently has been about the declining season ticket sales for Iowa football. It's gotten so bad that the U of I is offering season ticket packages to full-time Kirkwood students.
I've never had football season tickets, but I was a basketball season ticket holder for two years...
