My Madison Adventure

What better time to write about my recent trip to Madison, Wis. than the week of the Iowa/Wisconsin game?

I went up to "Mad Town" about a week ago to see Father John Misty perform at the Orpheum Theatre. The venue was cool (think Paramount). The show was even better. This is the second time I've seen FJM. The first time was in Iowa City, where I became a devoted fan of his music. His Madison show was just as entertaining--an hour and a half of music and snark. If you ever get the chance to see him live, DO IT!

The rest of the trip was spent visiting the Wisconsin State Capitol, hitting up bars, restaurants, and a very legit record store (B-Side).

All in all, it was a great weekend in Madison. I came away with another great show and city under my belt, plus some new records to spin. Here's to hoping the Hawks come away this weekend with a win.
