Tomorrow is Halloween. The only day a person can dress up in a costume without looking stupid or deranged. Well, actually, let's talk about that...

When kids get dressed up for Halloween, it's cool. They get to be a superhero, athlete, or another character they like and/or admire. They go out and get treats. It's all good.

When adults dress up. Eh...

Hey, if you get invited to a party and have to dress up, that makes sense. But why are we having adult costume parties in the first place? Why are adults so giddy about dressing up? Is it that much fun? Have they always wanted to be actors and embody another persona? Do they despise their own lives so much that their only release is to totally transform themselves for one day a year?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't get it. So I won't be attending any parties this Halloween. It's not that I don't like some of the festivities, but I'm not going to throw on a costume in order to participate. I'll be at home, front porch light on, handing out candy to the only people who should be dressing up for Halloween...
