A Wednesday evening accident in Keokuk County has killed a North English man.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2016 Toyota Camry was traveling west on Highway 92, just west of Sigourney, a few minutes after 7 p.m. Wednesday night. The westbound car struck a deer that had come out of the north ditch and onto the roadway. After making contact with the westbound Camry, the deer went into the air and hit the windshield of an eastbound Nissan, entering the vehicle.

45-year-old Donald Burdick of North English was driving the eastbound Nissan. He died from his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and has not been identified.

The crash is still under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, who was assisted at the scene by the Keokuk County Sheriff's Office and local fire department.
