If you live in Cedar Rapids, you're used to seeing the color orange on streets and roadways. It's that time of year when road projects large and small pop up seemingly everywhere you drive!  The Paving For Progress campaign in Cedar Rapids will see some 40 projects done over the course of the summer and fall, and one busy city street will close starting on Tuesday, May 10th.

CBS2 reports that weather permitting, Oakland Road will be shut down for pavement improvements either Tuesday the 10th or Wednesday, May 11th. During the project, Oakland Road will be closed to through traffic from Miami Court to Golf Street. Residents in that area will still have access.

During the Oakland Road project, CBS2 reports that the street will be closed to through traffic during the duration of the work. The closure area will move from south to north as work progresses. While residents may use Oakland Road to get to their homes, all other traffic should take one of two detours, at 42nd street on the north end, and on 32nd street on the south end.
