I don't know about you, but, most days, I really don't think of myself as an adult. I live on my own, I pay all my own bills, and I have health insurance, but in my head I'm still just a kid.

A new survey done over in the U.K. revealed the top 50 signs of adulthood, and here are the top 10:

  1. Paying utility bills
  2. Doing your own laundry/ironing
  3. Budgeting
  4. Moving out of your parents' house
  5. Getting insurance
  6. Buying a house
  7. Making your own financial decisions
  8. Paying into a retirement account
  9. Keeping your house clean
  10. Getting groceries on a weekly basis

I can check off probably eight of these (I don't have a house and I definitely don't keep it clean), but they aren't really the things that remind me that I'm getting old(er). You know what makes me feel old? When I'm walking up the four flights of my stairs to get to my apartment and I have to stop and catch my breath when I'm done. Or, when I go out to the bar on a Friday night and I'm still feeling it on Sunday afternoon. Or, when I go to the grocery store for ONE THING and I forget that one thing because I didn't write it down (I may or may not have done that with toilet paper this weekend). THOSE are the things that remind me I'm an adult.

We took to Facebook this morning to ask you to complete this sentence: You know you're getting old when...
