Iowa’s Josh Jackson Repeats Big 10 Weekly Honor
What does Josh Jackson have to do to earn Big 10 Defensive Player of the Week outright? All the junior DB did was return two interceptions for touchdowns and single-handedly kept Iowa in the game. And he has to SHARE the weekly honor?
Jackson earned the honor for the second straight week. He also tied a school record with the two interception returns for scores. He's the first Hawkeye to do it during Big 10 play. He also became the first offensive or defensive player to earn Big 10 honors in consecutive weeks. Tim Dwight earned special team honors in back to back weeks in 1997.
Yes, Iowa lost the game. A 'W' might have snagged Jackson the honors outright. But still, he has 5 interceptions in two weeks and leads the nation with 7 on the year! His next chance to add to the totals comes on Saturday as Iowa hosts Purdue.
