ICCT Announces Auditions for SHE KILLS MONSTERS

The Iowa City Community Theatre has announced they will be holding open auditions for an upcoming production of Qui Nguyen's exciting and funny play SHE KILLS MONSTERS.

Auditions will be held at the Iowa City Public Library on Sunday, August 20, 1:00-5:00 pm and on Monday, August 21, 6:00-9:00 pm. Callbacks will take place on Thursday, August 24, 6:00-9:00 pm.

According to the Iowa City Community Theatre's website:

A comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games, She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she stumbles into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ‘90s pop culture, acclaimed young playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

Roles for 7 women, 3 men, and a varied ensemble of monsters and puppet operators are available.

Performance dates are: October 27, 28, 29 and Nov. 3, 4, 5. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 PM. Sunday performances begin at 2:00 PM.
