Huge Brawl in Cedar Rapids Leaves Neighbors Fearful
Cedar Rapids cops had their hands full on Monday afternoon around 5:30 p.m. when a crowd of 40-50 people squared off in a large brawl on the city's southwest side.
KWWL reported police officers have arrested 4 people in connection with the fighting and expect more suspects will be charged in the coming days.
The ruckus took place in the 3000 block of J Street SW at the Cedar Valley Apartments in Cedar Rapids.
Police say the first officer on scene tried to separate two people that were fighting, but then called for backup once they realized that a large crowd had formed.
Residents in the area complained to City Council members on Tuesday afternoon about safety concerns. It seems that these young gangs of agitators are popping up all around the city this summer, including at festivals and events. It's scary to think that innocent bystanders might be in danger of violence over the foolishness of these damn kids.
