In Illinois, weed grown at home might not make it in the new legalization bill.

Last week, the Governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker, finally released his plan for the legalization of marijuana for the state. If you didn't see, check it out HERE.

His goal is to have it in place on January 1, 2020. Of course, it needs to go through a lot before that happens.

Many changes could be made in the process. Here's the first one being discussed.

According to chicagotribune.com,

"Just more than a week after introducing a bill to legalize recreational marijuana in Illinois, sponsors have begun retooling the measure to appease critics. In one of the most fundamental changes, sponsors say it is likely they will eliminate a provision to let all adult state residents grow up to five plants at home."

Sounds like homegrown pot might not make the cut.

This is only the beginning. I'm sure by the end, there will be many changes to the original proposal. Remember, it's Illinois politics and they can screw up anything.
