A White Christmas may not be promised, as the mild weather continues to melt the snow away, but CBS2 reports that the Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department does promise fun activities to keep kids busy and items to keep them warm this winter, as the "Rollin' Recmobile" will be out distributing winter gear next week. On December 28, 29, 30 and January 2-3 staff will lead winter fun activities while handing out hats, gloves, and mittens to those in need in several parks around the city.

Monday, December 28:

  • 11 a.m. to noon: Hidder Park, 1248 10th St. SE
  • 1-2 p.m.: Twin Pines Park, 1131 5th St. NW
  • 3 to 4 p.m.: Cleveland Park, 1600 8th Ave. SW

Tuesday, December 29:

  • 11 a.m. to noon: Jackson Park, Wiley Blvd./Jackson Dr. NW
  • 1 to 2 p.m: Nixon Park, Northwood Dr./Nixon Dr. NE
  • 3 to 4 p.m: Redmond Park, 1545 3rd Ave. SE

Wednesday, December 30:

  • 11 a.m. to noon: Hayes Park, 1924 D St. SW
  • 1 to 2 p.m.: Greene Square, 400 4th Ave. SE
