Who Has the Best Burger in Iowa? Here are All the Best Burger Winners
Now that the month of February has arrived, we are very quickly approaching the 2024 Best Burger Contest! Every year, the Iowa Beef Industry Council puts on a contest to figure out which restaurant has the most delicious burger in the state, and 2024 will mark the 15th annual competition.
The nomination period for this year's Best Burger Competition will begin on Monday, February 12th and run through Tuesday, March 12th. According to the official website, the upcoming contest will be a little different than in year's past. The page reads:
"In celebration of the 15th anniversary, we are allowing all previous Iowa’s Best Burger winners to compete in the 2024 Iowa’s Best Burger Contest."
If you're wondering who those winners are, we put together a list of all the honorees that are still in business as of January 2024. They include:
- 2010 - Sac County Cattle Company, Sac City (now under new ownership as Cattlemen's Steakhouse)
- 2011 - The Rusty Duck, Dexter

- 2015 - The Cider House, Fairfield (new location - is now known as Fishback & Stephenson Cider House)
- 2016 - The Chuckwagon Restaurant, Adair

- 2018 - Café Beaudelaire, Ames
- 2019 - Wood Iron Grille, Oskaloosa
- 2020 - Twisted Tail Steakhouse & Saloon, BeeBeeTown
