Good news for folks in Black Hawk County wanting to see a fireworks show this year on the 4th of July!

According to KCRG, "The city of Waterloo announced it will host the Mayor's Fireworks on July 4th at 10 p.m."

The event will take place in South Waterloo and the display will be visible south of Highway 20. Because of COVID-19, there will be no vendors or food at the event. There is also no scheduled entertainment, it's just the fireworks.

I didn't see an exact address for the display, but the KCRG article said you will be able to see the fireworks in the LaPorte Road and San Marnan area. If you plan to attend the event, the city is encouraging people to park at the campgrounds near the water park.

The fireworks will start at 10 p.m. and there is no charge to be at the event. To read the full article from KCRG TV-9, you can visit this link.

I was worried there would be no fireworks this year. I'm happy both Waterloo and Cedar Rapids will have spots to enjoy a display. To learn more about the Cedar Rapids fireworks, click on this link.

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. This year it sets up perfectly with the 3rd on a Thursday and the 4th on a Friday. For most people, it will be a nice 3-day weekend!

Have a great week and enjoy your 4th of July!
