We've some exciting news to pass along!

According to CBS2, "The Cedar Rapids Kernels will be putting on a fireworks show for the 4th of July." The event will be called the "Home Plate Bash!" There will be ballpark food, live music and of course, FIREWORKS!

Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. and the music will start at 7. Expect the fireworks show to start around 9:30. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from the stadium concession stands.

Tickets for the event are available for just $10. You can also reserve a table of four people for $50. ALL seats for the Home Plate Bash will be reserved to maintain social distancing and to keep everyone safe while enjoying a great night of entertainment. Seating for this event will be limited.

The CBS2 story indicated there will be about 1,500 tickets available. I'm guessing this event will sell out, so it would be a good idea to get your tickets early for this one. Season ticket holders can order right now by clicking this link. Sales for the general public will start on June 19. You can also charge by phone at (319) 363-3887.

I'm pumped the Kernels are doing this. I was worried we wouldn't see any fireworks this year with all of the cancellations. This sounds like a fun evening of great entertainment and I'm sure they will put on a great fireworks show to end the night.
