WATCH: Iowa Cops Save Two From Drowning
The Des Moines Police released dramatic video of a water rescue on the Des Moines river that happened Monday night.
The police officer's body camera video shows officers rescuing a man and a woman out of the cold rushing waters.
Cops say the couple's inflatable raft capsized by the Scott Street Bridge in Des Moines. The two were trapped in the chilling waters by a dam. At times they were being pulled under the water.
Thanks to the swift action by the police, the two were saved. They could have easily drowned, but cops were alerted to the scene by people passing by who heard calls of "help" coming from the water.
The 44-year-old male and 50-year-old female were taken to the hospital and have since been released.
