A young Cedar Rapids man drowned Saturday after jumping into Millers Bay.

A call to local authorities was made in the afternoon and later that day, a body was recovered from a small pond in rural Iowa.

An 8-year-old boy was struggling in the Iowa River when a man from Coralville entered the water to save him. He ultimately drowned.

It happened Saturday afternoon.

After nearly one week on life support, a three-year-old has died following an accidental drowning in Cedar Rapids.
