Unsurprisingly, Waterloo Has One of the Best Diners in the State
Nothing beats breakfast at your favorite local diner, right?
Everyone has that one spot that they love to go to after a night out or when they're looking for some good, comfort food. Obviously, the Hawkeye State is home to a whole lot of places that can nail the perfect diner breakfast or lunch!
Iowa Starting Line put together a list of some of the best diners in Iowa and quite a few of them are a must hit for anyone in Eastern Iowa.
The publisher put together the list based off of reader/audience feedback. There was a wide variety of diners from all across the state. A few notable nods included the Bluebird Diner in Iowa City and Drake Diner in Des Moines.
Both of these spots broke through to the top three of the collection.
The other diner in the top tier of this list is one of my absolute favorite places for breakfast. In my opinion, they have the best omelets in the Cedar Valley, and they are notorious for their HUGE pancakes.
That's right...Morg's Diner set up in the heart of Downtown Waterloo made the cut. I mean, are we even that surprised?
Located at 520 Mulberry Street, this Waterloo diner is a local favorite. The food that Morg's serves has earned it many local awards and recognitions over the course of its 60 plus years in the game.
Another exciting factor about this collection is that Morg's isn't the only Waterloo name on it! Highway 63 Diner was also mentioned on the list. Located on 3030 Marnie Road, this restaurant has got recipes that are "made-from-scratch."
They also just so happened to be owned by the same people who run the East Bremer Diner in Waverly!
