UFC Sells For $4 Billion
UFC has been sold for $4 billion. As it stands, this is the most expensive transaction for an organization in sports history.
Four agencies had to get together to make the deal work -- talent agency WME-IMG is partnering with its owner Silver Lake Partners, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, and MSD Capital to pony up the $4 billion.
The deal certainly speaks to the rising popularity of UFC. The organization was purchased for $2 million in 2000 by brothers Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta. They -- along with current president Dana White -- just became very rich men.
