An open letter to Cedar Rapids.

As "majestic" as Mt. Trashmore is, this is the time of year where small mountains appear nearly everywhere.

Making assumptions about a group of people is usually wrong, but not in this case.

"Jimmy Fallon gave me a drunk hug once."

I was driving along the big shopping strip in Coralville the other day, and I realized there was something missing. Maybe not missing from an Iowan's perspective, but to someone who recently moved from Louisiana, there is definitely at least one type of store that just isn't anywhere to be found in the Hawkeye state.

I have, what one would say, an obsessive attention to detail. It's not a bad quality to have, especially when you work in any artistic field. That attention to detail, however, sometimes causes me to have a small fit when I see something that is out of place.

I know what you're going to say..."It's only January...how can you have learned ANYTHING about winter in the Midwest?" Well, these are just initial observations.

Have you ever seen someone about to do something stupid, but because you were paralyzed by disbelief, there was nothing you could do?

When I walked into work today, I was getting some strange looks as sauntered down the hall. Apparently, I'm a little too dressed.

"If you don't like the weather here, just wait a minute...it'll change."
