The sentencing hearing for Chris Soules has been moved again according to court filings on Tuesday. The new hearing date is set for May 21st. District Court Judge Andrea J. Dryer ordered the hearing which was previously scheduled for February 12th, delayed until late May.

The reason for the delay was because of a member of the Mosher family, who was a court registered victim in the case, was unable to attend the February hearing date. Due to the schedule of the judge in the case, the late May date was the soonest that sentencing could be scheduled. No further delays are expected.

Soules plead guilty in November of 2018 to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor, related to an accident he was involved in on April 24th, 2017. The plea is a reduction of the original charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, which is a class D felony.

If the plea is accepted by the judge, Soules could face a maximum of 2 years in prison plus fines. He may also request a deferred judgment or suspended sentence in the case.
