Lawyers Ask For Yet Another Delay In Soules’ Sentencing

Lawyers for Chris Soules have formally requested another delay in his sentencing. It has already been delayed twice.

In a motion filed on Monday, his lawyers argued that the state has not filed a response to a separate motion that was filed earlier this year. Soules' legal team argues that the current sentencing date of May 21st would not give the state or defense lawyers enough time to consider any court considerations.

In November of 2018, Soules plead guilty to a lesser charge of leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious injury. He was originally charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Prosecutors say that Soules drove his truck into a tractor being driven by Kenneth Moser on April 24th, 2017. Moser died in the accident. Soules made the original 911 call but then left after first responders arrived. He was arrested at his home five hours later.

In his plea agreement, Soules admitted he failed to provide his registration number of his truck to 911 dispatch and law enforcement.
