After several days of searching for a missing Iowa City man, police believe that they have located him. A body found Wednesday afternoon by police being assisted by the department's K9 unit is believed to be that of 21-year-old Nikolai 'Niko' Stielow.

According to the Iowa City Police Department, Stielow's body was found in a heavily wooded area in northern Iowa City, south of Whiting Avenue and west of Kimball Road. Stielow, whose family said was on the autism spectrum, was reported missing on Saturday after fleeing from his family while in the downtown area. He was also reported missing back in April and an Operation Quickfind was issued shortly before he ended up being located.

Preliminary information does not indicate any foul play in Stielow's death. The cause of death will be determined following an autopsy by the Johnson County Medical Examiner. Stielow's family expressed appreciation to all those who helped in the search and showed concern over the past several days.
