UPDATE 1/24

Police have released more information in the case of a missing Marion man. Theodore 'Ted' Wolf has been missing since January 16th and officials have asked the public to focus their search on the Highway 13 and Highway 30 area as Wolf never made it to a scheduled appointment in Lisbon. But now police say he was seen later that day in Johnson County.

KCRG reports that Marion police say that Wolf was involved in an accident the day he disappeared. Police say the crash happened at around 4 p.m. on Highway 965 and Amana Road in Johnson County. KCRG says that Wolf exchanged information with the other driver but that police were not called to the scene. Wolf was last seen driving west on County Road 120 from Highway 965 towards Swisher.

Police say Wolf is driving a red Ford Edge with the license plate EL779. Anyone who sees Wolf or his vehicle is urged to contact the Marion police department at 319-377-1511.

UPDATE 1/23

Police are still searching for a missing Marion man. KCRG reports that 83-year-old Theodore 'Ted' Wolf was last seen on Monday, January 16th at 12:30 p.m. At the time, he was driving his red Ford Edge with the license plate EL779. He is 5 foot 9 inches, weighs 224 pounds, and has brown eyes and gray hair.

Officials say that his age and his medical condition are added concerns. KCRG reports that when Wolf left his home he did not take his phone with him. He headed towards Lisbon via Highway 13 and Highway 30 for a scheduled appointment. He never showed up to that appointment. Officials say that there have been no financial transactions on his accounts since his disappearance. KCRG reports that an airplane attempted to locate his vehicle, but found nothing. This is the last known photo of Wolf courtesy of the Iowa DOT.

Unfortunately, Wolfe isn't the only person missing in the state. Far from it, in fact. One look at the Iowa Missing Persons website and you get a pit in your stomach. So many Iowans are still unaccounted for. There are cases as recent as Wolfe's, and some that date back all the way to 1979. Men, women, and children whose whereabouts are still unknown to this day. It is why Operation Quickfinds are so important and should be taken seriously. Let's hope that we can bring some of these faces home soon.
