There is a new pizza place in Bettendorf Iowa that took over the location of an old pizza place.  For people looking for a good wood-fired pizza, hopefully, this one sticks around a bit longer.

Inferno Pizza and Pints is now open at 2561 53rd Avenue in Bettendorf.  The same spot where Mio Russo Sicilian Pizza was located.  That pizza place lasted about a year having just closed in April of 2023.

You can check out the menu below and take a look at the pizzas you can now get at Inferno Pizza & Pints.

According to the Quad City Times, new owner Brian Islami is no stranger to the restaurant industry.  Brian also owns the Flilp's Pancake House locations.  Now after traveling to Italy, he is bringing Italian-style pizza to the Quad Cities.

According to Inferno Pizza & Pints Facebook page, their hours are currently Thursday and Sunday 3:00 - 9:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 3:00 - 10:00 p.m.  They will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, and for lunch once they are fully staffed.

Not Much Has Changed Inside

Since the bones of a pizza restaurant were just at the location, not much had to change.  The table layout, design, and bar all look the same from when it was the last pizza place.  The patio is still there as well for outdoor drinking and dining.

The menu has unique pizza combinations along with pasta and sandwiches.  Of course, there is also plenty to drink since they are called "pizza and pints".

So on my first visit on opening night, I ordered WAY more food than I needed to.  But I couldn't decide and wanted to try a few different things.

It started, with cheese.  So much cheese.

That picture doesn't do the Fried Mozzarella justice.  I should have put my hand next to them to show you how big they are.  Basically, they are giant mozzarella sticks, but having them super-sized is great.  More cheese, less breading.  Awesome way to start.

Pizza Time!

So as you can see from the menu above, the pizza is very specialized and unique.  But when you are with a child...they want pepperoni and cheese.  So that is what we ordered and basically, they just made the Margherita pizza minus the basil, plus the pepperoni.

While the child and I could have easily split that, we didn't just get one pizza.

I got the Pollo Pesto pizza as well.  Both pizzas were ordered in the "Neapolitana" style.  Which is smaller and a circle.  The Romana is larger and a rectangle.  While we didn't order one like that I did see one walk by and it looked like it was a bit less crust.

If you like crust, you'll love this pizza.  It was soft, chewy, crunchy, and tasty.  If you are not a crust fan (or you have a child that doesn't like crust) then as you can see above, this won't be the kind of pizza for you.  While it was super tasty, after the first crust I wanted something to dip the second one in.  Luckily the giant cheese sticks came with pizza sauce that I could dip the crust a bit.

Overall the pizza was super tasty and the two pies and appetizer were beyond plenty.  I'll be eating leftovers again tomorrow...and maybe the next day.  Which this day and age is what we all want.  Good food that fills you up (and then some) and doesn't empty your pockets.

Check out Inferno Pizza & Pints in Bettendorf for your next pizza and here is to lasting longer (much longer) than your predecessor.
