This Wednesday, May 8 would mark the 21st birthday of Mollie Tibbetts, the University of Iowa student who, after an extensive search, was found dead in Powesheik County on August 21, 2018.

To honor her memory, her family asking for your help in a special way. They'd love for you to send a small, $21 donation to one of their favorite causes, restoration of the Brooklyn Opera House, in their hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa. Her grandparents were also said to be loyal, tireless volunteers and patrons there.

The public can stop by the Michael J. Manatt Community Center in Brooklyn on Wednesday for an open house for Mollie's birthday as well.

At this open house, which runs from 4-6 p.m., there will be free kindness card, a place to make your donations, and special announcements at around 5:15 p.m., from Laura Calderwood of Mollie's Movement and the Brooklyn Community Development.
