Louis Székely, known professionally as Louis C.K., is one of the most successful comedians today.  In addition to his stand-up, he’s also an actor, writer, producer and director.  The 47 year-old comedian is now at the top of the mountain, but he’s definitely paid his dues.

His stand-up career started in the 1980’s in the Boston comedy scene.  He gradually achieved some success and released his first HBO special in 1996.  His writing credits date back to the 1990’s.  Along the way, he’s written for the Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Dana Carvey Show, and The Chris Rock Show.  He even wrote and directed the film, Pootie Tang.  Yes, there’s a film called Pootie Tang.  One of those they call a “cult classic”.

C.K. has most recently been in the news for leaving Twitter and his millions of followers.  He recently apologized, in person, to Sarah Palin for some nasty tweets from 2010.  He quit Twitter because it didn’t make him feel good.  He raves about divorce, he doesn’t care a whole lot about his appearance… he’s just a dude.  A funny dude.

Currently, C.K is the writer, director, produce of the television series, Louis, which is based not-so-loosely on his real life.  The show is currently in its fifth season.  Louis airs Thursdays on FX.
