Bull Rider Surprises Waverly Boy With Special Gift
It takes a special kind of someone to want to go out in an arena with a bucking bull. To me, anyone willing to go out into an arena like that has a lot of guts, courage, and a splash of crazy.
But for those that do go out into that arena, they are met with crowds of all ages. Some even look up to those bull riders as new role models.
Last week at the Bremer County Fair, one kid was able to meet the athletes he had been watching compete.
Connor was excitingly waiting in line to get an autograph from some of the night’s bull riders. Dungan Dunbar noticed his excitement and decided to surprise Connor with a little something special.
In a Facebook post by Dungan, he explained that after signing Connor’s autograph sheet, he told Connor he had a surprise for him.
Took off my hat asked him his name and started signing it when he realized what was going on after I gave it to the guys to sign out of nowhere with no hesitation, runs to me and wraps his arms around my waist and gave me the biggest longest hug
But that’s not all Dungan did for Connor.
The bull riding event was held by Rice Bull Riding. That night no one covered in the bull riding event, meaning no one stayed on for the minimum amount of time to qualify for the event’s champion title.
Dungan contacted the event coordinators asking if they could give the champion buckle to Connor.
Between the signed hat and the champion buckle, is it too early to say Waverly may have its next up-and-coming bull rider?
