A late-evening ATV ride ended in tragedy for a family in Davis County Friday night.

According to an accident report from the Iowa State Patrol, troopers responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident near 19478 Jaguar Trail, northwest of Bloomfield in Davis County, in southeast Iowa. The accident was reported at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday night, July 24.

The report from the Iowa State Patrol indicates a 2013 Polaris Ranger was traveling west on Jaguar Trail when the driver left the roadway near 19478 Jaguar Trail, and lost control of the vehicle, which flipped over. All four of the ATV's riders were ejected from the vehicle in the crash.

The driver of the ATV was identified as 17-year-old Isaac Schmucker of Bloomfield. He was hurt in the accident, along with two other siblings. The other injured were identified as 16-year-old Noah Schmucker and 14-year-old Amos Schmucker. All three were transported to the Davis County Hospital by Davis County EMS. The conditions of the three injured were not released. Their 19-year-old sister, Cora Schmucker of Bloomfield, was killed in the crash.

Cora Schmucker is the second Davis County resident to be killed in an ATV accident in the last year. According to KTVO, 65-year-old Randy Skinner was killed Saturday, December 28, 2019, in an ATV accident near his Flora, Iowa home.
