After getting blasted when the two teams played at Purdue, the Iowa men's basketball team trailed by 9 again last night at halftime. No one would begrudge a young Iowa team collapsing under the pressure. But this young Hawkeye team is growing. Led by Peter Jok's line of 29 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds, Iowa rallied and topped #17 Purdue at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, 83-78.

Nicholas Baer continued his inspired play with 4 points, 10 rebounds, and blocks like this one.

Tyler Cook added 16 points and fellow freshman
Jordan Bohannon added 12 points, 9 assists, and only one turnover. Iowa was lucky to be so close as the Hawks were outshot severely from the free throw line. Purdue shot 21-25 from the charity stripe. Put Iowa won the rebounding battle and outscored the Boilermakers in the paint.

With Peter Jok scoring at a record pace, and this talented group of freshman growing up quick, Iowa may not make the tourney this year. But man, are they fun to watch.
