The Iowa Hawkeyes were defeated by Northwestern on Saturday 14-10. With the victory, Northwestern will be going to the Big Ten Championship Game. Who would of thought we'd be saying that at the beginning of the year!

It was a 32-yard touchdown my Bennett Skowronek that gave the Wildcats a 14-10 lead in the fourth quarter. After a couple of turnovers, it was all over for the Hawkeyes. Iowa entered the game as an 11-point favorite according to "Jimmy the Chin," a local bookmaker in Marion.

Iowa drops to to 6-4 on the year, with a 3-4 Big Ten record. Iowa, now losers of three straight, will travel to Memorial Stadium in Champagne next week to take on Illinois. By the way, this Illinois team is pretty bad.....we should win this one. (I hope)

One bright spot, Nate Stanley had a  touchdown and threw for 269 yards on the day.

Let's hope for better results next week and hope Iowa can get back in the win column. If not, we can always start cheering for Iowa State.

Just kidding, that could NEVER happen.
