Iowa governor Terry Branstad said that he won't rule out accepting a position with the Trump administration, should he be asked. There has been some speculation that Branstad may be offered the position of U.S. Ambassador to China.

Branstad spoke to reporters over the weekend after returning from a trade mission to China and Japan. Branstad said that he continues to be focused on what's best for Iowans. He also noted that he has not had a chance yet to speak with President-elect Trump, but that could change. Branstad is scheduled to be in New York in December on an economic development trip.

The governor's son, Eric Branstad, was the state director for the Trump campaign in Iowa.
