Iowa Defensive Lineman Earns Big Ten Freshman Of The Week Honors
Iowa defensive lineman Anthony Nelson has been named the Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week. Nelson wasn't even a starter against Miami of Ohio this past Saturday but played big when Iowa needed it the most.
Nelson forced 2 fumbles, both recovered by Iowa, 6 tackles, and 2.5 sacks for the day. Iowa's defense wasn't exactly in midseason form, but they did enough in Iowa's 45-21 victory over the Red Hawks.
Next up for Iowa is the rivalry game against Iowa State. Kickoff is set for 6:40 p.m. Saturday night at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.
