Northeast Iowa Dairy Farmers Invited to Discuss Industry Issues
Iowa State University Extension specialists will be hosting the 2022 Dairy Days to give dairy farmers the opportunity to hear about dairy industry issues coming into 2022.
According to ISU Dairy Specialist Jenn Bentley,
This program gives producers a chance to learn about a variety of topics and be able to network with other producers and industry representatives
Program participants will have the opportunity to learn more about euthanasia, composting mortalities, farm personalities, transition cow nutrition, milk marketing, and industry updates.
The Program will take place in late January and early February and does have sessions in Northeastern Iowa in Howard, Winneshiek and Dubuque counties.
Locations of events:
Jan. 25, Elma, Howard County.
Jan. 26 Calmar, Winneshiek County.
Jan. 27 New Vienna, Dubuque County.
Feb. 1, Kalona, Washington County.
Feb. 8, Orange City, Sioux County.

Farm Bureau Scholarship Now Available
Iowa is a leader in agriculture, a distinction that isn't possible without the work of today's youth, says IFBF President Brent Johnson.
Iowa Farm Bureau is proud to award nearly $500,000 in annual scholarships to these students whose agricultural knowledge will strengthen the industry and Iowa’s rural communities.
Applications are now being accepted by high school students graduating in spring 2022 for the Iowa Farm Bureau Federations scholarship. Iowa Farm Bureau is offering 27 high school seniors $2,500 in scholarship funds which are renewable for four years- up to $10,000
Each of Iowa’s farm bureau counties will send in one application to be considered for one of the 27 scholarship awards.
To qualify, students must be a member or be the child of a current member of the Iowa farm bureau. Students must also have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA, be involved in extracurricular and be accepted into a higher education program.
