Several Iowa Companies Are Considering Four-Day Workweeks
How many times have you thought to yourself, "the weekends go by way too fast" or "it'd be nice if we had four day work weeks"? If you've been wishing for longer weekends, those wishes could come true.

According to KCCI, more and more companies around the U.S. are exploring four-day workweeks. Under this structure, employees would work an extra two hours a day. Not a bad trade-off to have an extra day off. Especially since in a lot of cases, people work extra hours anyways.
Several Iowa companies are already trying out this new schedule. KCCI reports that Lil Scholars Preschool in Des Moines has their employees on the new schedule, and says it "improves communication between the school and parents." Plus, employees like the extra day off.
Management-wise, it's so much easier. We're able to put every day in a four-day workweek. It's easier to cover the shift. One person can cover our entire day versus having multiple people coming in, staggering in and out,” Founder Marci Johnston told KCCI.
An organization called Four Day Global is researching the pros and cons of the four-day workweek schedule. The study involves 38 companies across the U.S. who will try it for six months. KCCI says that the study has reported "more productivity and a more positive mental mindset." No surprise there. Can you imagine how much better of a mindset you'd have if you got that a three-day weekend every week!? If you think about it, currently, you work on Friday, and then you go to bed early on Sunday to get ready for work on Monday. So, basically, it's like we're only truly getting one full weekend day.
If you ask me this would be a great change. If you own a company and think so too, try it out. Four Day Global is still looking for companies for the study. Sign up HERE.
