Introducing KRNA DJ Micki Slick

Hi I'm Micki,

I've been part of the KRNA team for years. I've been behind the mic before and I'm thrilled to be back on the air. I've also served a stint in the promotions department some time ago.

One of the things I like best about being at the classic rock station is the chance to meet listeners at all the events we attend. Having grown up near Independence in Eastern Iowa, I have tons of great memories. I was glad to see friends and listeners just as happy as I am that the original KRNA format is back!

I remember chunky, push-button FM car radios with cassette decks, I owned a turntable and vinyl albums before it was a hipster movement, and if I'm scanning the TV, I will still stop to watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas" for a few minutes just to hear that kid playing the toy piano.

I'm looking forward to the Def Leppard/REO/Tesla concert on Monday at the US Cell Center. I hope to see a lot of you there, because it should be a great show!

Two other things you should know about me. I am a die-hard Cubs fan, and a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan as well. Respect my teams and we'll get along just fine!
