Imagine standing in the batter's box on a warm spring day. The sun shines down on the green grassy field as you tap the dirt of your cleats and take your final warmup swings.

The pitcher sets and delivers a strike, right down the middle of the plate. The crack of the bat sends a tingle up your arms, as the ball sails high into the sky. You round the bases in a victory stroll!

The inaugural Iron Horse Home Run Derby is coming to the legendary Field of Dreams movie site baseball diamond in Dyersville on Saturday May 18.

On field registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with hitting starting at 10:00. The cost is $35 with all proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Iowa.

There are several divisions for kids ages 9-13, ages 14-18 and Adults 18+

Winners in each division receive a prize. But the real thrills come from stepping up to the plate and taking your cuts to hit one into the cornfield, knowing you're helping a good cause in the process.

Let's play ball!
