You might notice there'll be a blue glow highlighting one of Cedar Rapids most notable sculptures this weekend.  But do you know why?Today, April 2nd, is World Autism Awareness Day, sanctioned by the United Nations. To commemorate the day, Autism Speaks, a group dedicated to curing and preventing Autism, has their annual "Light It Up Blue" campaign, encouraging businesses and landmarks to highlight buildings with blue lighting to create awareness.  This also extends to homes, while encouraging people to wear blue as well.

And that's where the Tree of 5 Seasons comes in.  The City of Cedar Rapids has decided to participate in the campaign illuminating the landmark in blue throughout the Easter weekend. To do this, lights which currently illuminate the 60 foot tall stainless steel monument will be covered with blue filters.

You can participate as well to help spread the word.  Click the link below for some ideas.
