Moms are the best!

We all know it, and we're reminded every year during the second week in May. This Sunday, May 10th is Mother's Day. The day we can thank our moms for bringing us into the world and putting up with our crap for so many years.

My mom lives in Arizona. I was planning a trip to see her this week, but that got postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It sucks, but it is what it is.

I'm super bummed, but my gift arrived on Saturday, so I'm in the clear as far as that goes.  do this every year, I wait until the last minute and end up spending $87 to ship the package via Fed-Ex.

If mom knew I spent that much on shipping, she would yell at me. Next year, I promise, I'll send my gift earlier and use the USPS and save some cash.

But you know what, she put up with all of my shenanigans over the years. She taught me to be a good person and respect others. She was there when I needed a friend and she was there to bail me out when I needed a little extra help.

I know we all say this, but I think my mom is really the best. I miss her, but I know it's the right thing to stay here in Iowa and I will see her soon. She's worth a lot more than $87 dollars.

If you can't see your mom on Sunday, grab your cell and giver her a buzz. We're all a little lonely right now, and I'm sure you mom would love to hear from you.

We'll get through this and next year will be a HUGE party!

God bless all of the moms out there in Eastern Iowa.

We love you.
