HACAP noted via press release that i is hosting a pop-up food pantry today in the parking lot of Veterans Memorial Stadium (Kernels Stadium). It starts at 11 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m. or while supplies last.

So many are in need and no identification is required.  You may also pick up for yourself and multiple other households. We still have this COVID-19 situation, however so if you are sick or have come from out of state please do not join the volunteer effort, but you may still stop by for pick up in the parking lot at 950 Rockford Rd. SW.

Hy, Vee, United Way, and Feeding America and other partners are helping in this effort, and we at the Townsquare Media radio stations are glad to help spread the word.

There are other opportunities to pick up needed refreshment today around the Cedar Rapids area through the "Healthy You" mobile traveling to the following neighborhoods. Exact locations will be determined by space availability:

11 a.m. - Oakhill Jackson neighborhood (near Jane Boyd) 14th Ave SE
1 p.m. - Taylor Neighborhood, near Taylor Elementary
3 p.m. - LADD Library, 3750 Williams Blvd SW

Snacks, beverages, and cell phone chargers will be available free of charge. Nearly 70% of Linn County remained without power as of Friday morning, according to CBS2, with Alliant saying it maybe another 5-7 days before the area is fully restored. This is showing that the need for service and supplies is still great. We are proud to help HACAP and Hy-Vee spread the word about ways you can get that help.
