One of Iowa’s Most Popular Bands Came Back to Visit HyVee!
Once in a while, you get to be a part of an event that ends up being a massive success. I've never been a part of something like this before.
Three Iowa favorites teamed up yesterday (9-23) and put on an event that had hundreds of people waiting in line to get in the door. At one point, there was a long that stretched almost the entire width of the Hyvee, located at 1720 Waterfront Dr, in Iowa City.
Some of the members from one of the most popular bands to come from the state of Iowa stopped by Hyvee to meet, greet, and sign whiskey bottles for hundreds of fans.
If you were unaware...SLIPKNOT made a stop in Iowa City yesterday!
Slipknot No.9 Iowa and Slipknot No.9 Reserve
Slipknot has teamed up with Cedar Ridge Distillery to create their own brand of Slipknot Whiskey!
At Hyvee, hundreds of fans waited outside of the Wine and Spirits section, waiting for their chance to get their purchased Slipknot No.9 Whiskey bottles signed, as well as albums, CD cases, shirts, guitars, and everything in between signed by a few members of the band.
The two batches of Slipknot whiskey are called Slipknot No.9 Iowa and Slipknot No.9 Reserve and are currently available at your favorite Hyvee Wine and Spirits locations.
These two whiskeys are "3 to 4-year-old straight rye and straight bourbon mashed, fermented, distilled, and aged at the distillery. No.9 Reserve is a blend of 4 to 5-year-old straight rye and straight bourbon mashed, fermented, distilled, and aged at the Cedar Ridge Distillery," according to Hyvee.
I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about Slipknot other than they are from Iowa. I had a few friends in high school who were big fans and one of them always said Joey Joridson was the greatest drummer ever when he was alive and playing in the band.
This was my first Slipknot experience and to see how many loyal fans they have in their home state was incredible. I can't remember seeing a line of people that long, for anything, in my 33 years of life. Young kids were hoping to get autographs, and young men, young women, and older people were all waiting for a few moments with the band. This gathering of people was like something I've never seen before and it was so much fun to be a part of.
Slipknot was formed in Des Moines, in 1995, and there's no doubt Iowans are proud to call this band theirs.
