A Monday evening accident in rural Linn County killed a "juvenile male," according to a release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

A 911 call at 8:19 p.m. Monday evening reported an overturned lawn mower with someone under it in the 5600 block of East Cemetery Road. The area is in rural Linn County, between Fairfax and Cedar Rapids.

Linn County Sheriff's Deputies, Linn County Sheriff's Rescue, the Fairfax Fire Department, and Area Ambulance all responded to the scene. When they arrived, they found the victim pinned under the mower. Authorities believe he was mowing near the ditch at the property when the riding lawn mower overturned, trapping him underneath. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The boy has been identified as 17-year-old Alexander W. Prochaska of Cedar Rapids. The Linn County Sheriff's Office says he was mowing at the residence of a relative when the accident occurred.
