“Big Boy” Steam Locomotive Visits Cedar Rapids [WATCH]
The Union Pacific "Big Boy" locomotive No. 4014 departed Cedar Rapids on Wednesday morning. We took our video crew over to capture old No. 4014 in all its glory and I must say, it was pretty cool!
There was well over 300 people that stopped by to see the world's largest steam engine depart from Cedar Rapids. Everyone had their phones out taking pictures and shooting video. It's not everyday you see something this cool, especially here in Cedar Rapids!
There are only seven of its kind left on display, and it's rare to see them in action. That's what made today so special for me. And I'll be honest, I didn't think it would be as cool as it was. I'm so glad I decided to make the trip!
Special thanks to everyone at Union Pacific for including Cedar Rapids on this trip. We sure enjoyed our history lesson, and it was cool to be up close and personal to such an awesome machine.
