This sounds like a scene out of the movie The Shawshank Redemption.

According to KCRG-TV 9, An Inmate at the Anamosa State Penitentiary assaulted a correctional officer Friday night, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections."

The incident happened Friday evening around 7:30 p.m. A correctional officer was distributing medication to the prisoners and one of the inmates refused to take his pills. When the officer tried to make him take it, he swung and hit the guard in the face.

Authorities said correctional officers were able to place the inmate in restraints. The officer who got hit has hand and face injuries. Authorities said the inmate was not harmed and suffered no injuries.

The name of the inmate was not released to the public. We will continue to follow this story and provide updates as soon as we learn more information.
