December 18 is the 21st anniversary of the death of comedic genius Chris Farley. Yes, it's been more than two decades since the man who could make me laugh just by looking at him, passed away. The Madison Wisconsin native died in 1997 at his Chicago apartment. The cause of death? A drug overdose. I still remember the shock and deep sadness I felt that day. I had no idea at the time that Chris had sought treatment for drugs and obesity seventeen times. He couldn't overcome them.

Comedian Adam Sandler was a good friend of Farley. The two were together on 'Saturday Night Live' from 1990 to 1995. Both were fired after the 1995 season, but their friendship endured until Chris' death. As part of a Netflix special, Adam pays tribute to his late friend with comedy, truth, and sadness. The pain is evident on his face.

Something tells me Chris Farley would want us to remember him with laughter... something he always brought to us with ease.
