Downtown Iowa City is getting a new addition this fall!
According to a recent article from the Iowa City Press-Citizen, ReUnion Brewery in Coralville has revealed that they are expanding into the Ped Mall in Iowa City. ReUnion Brewery made the announcement on Facebook on Valentine's Day, writing:
"We’re stoked to announce that we will be opening a brand new ReUnion brewpub on College street, right in the heart of Iowa City! ReUnion Downtown will feature a 5 bbl brew house, full kitchen, main floor, upstairs and basement bars and a huge patio in the pedmall!"
The Iowa City Press Citizen reports that the new brewery will take over the spaces that were once home to Fieldhouse, Givanni's, and Graze in the Dooley Block building. It will be larger than the Coralville location, with seating for about 300 people. The owner told the publication:
"The space formerly home to Givanni’s will have additional seating and a staircase to access the second floor, which will have a bar and seating for live entertainment. To the left will open a space for retail, where the brewery can sell its merchandise like its apparel. Below what was formerly the Fieldhouse will be another bar and additional seating."
As far as food and beverages go, the new ReUnion will have a full kitchen, just like the Coralville location. Each bar is set to offer 24 beers on-tap, and that will include beer that's been brewed in-house, as well as in their other facilities. Some of their popular year-round beers include Tank Puncher, Reunion IPA, Pounder, and Juice Factory.
ReUnion Brewery hopes to open their new Iowa City location in the fall. In the meantime, you can check out the Coralville one at 516 E 2nd St, and follow the Facebook page for updates HERE.
