Wilson’s Orchard And Farm To Open Second Iowa Location
This time of year, there is no better way to spend a fall afternoon than going to an apple orchard. The fall colors, delicious food, and time outdoors are the favorite activities of many here in Eastern Iowa. One of the most popular spots to visit is Wilson's Orchard and Farm in Iowa City. You can pick apples, check out all the pumpkins, and enjoy some food and craft beverages while you're there. And now, Wilson's has announced that they are going to be opening a second Iowa location!
Wilson's Orchard and Farm have announced that they are going to open a second farm in the Des Moines metro area, according to the Cedar Rapids Gazette. The new orchard will be in the town of Cumming, Iowa, located just southwest of Des Moines. The Gazette reports that the new orchard will have many of the same features as the Iowa City location, including an orchard, restaurant, bakery, and cider pub. The facility will also feature a large indoor and outdoor seating area. But the second Wilson's location will also feature something different.
The Gazette reports that, unlike the Iowa City location, the Cumming orchard will produce its hard cider on-site. The second orchard will be 115 acres and will feature 30 acres of pasture for raising livestock. The Gazette reports the rest will be fruit, berries, pumpkins, flowers, and vegetables.
For now, visitors can head to Wilson's Orchard and Farm in Iowa City. They're open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
