The Little League World Series has turned into a big-time event. ESPN gives it top billing on it's network and Sportscenter! But at the heart of all the hoopla and tension are kids. These ball players trying to emulate big leaguers are 12 years old! They wear their hearts on their sleeves. They cry when they loose. They jump up and down when they win. And in the end, they all shake hands and say 'good game'. It's a reminder of what sports should always be about.

Iowa has a team in this year's event. The team from Johnston is still alive in the double-elimination tournament after a walk-off win against Rhode Island yesterday. With a record of 2-1, they play Tennessee this afternoon at 3 p.m. and need a win to stay alive. And if that isn't reason enough to tune in, you have moments like this one. Many times coaches are also fathers to some of the players on the team. How often does a meeting on the mound in the big leagues go like this?
