The Burger King at 59th and Havelock in Lincoln, Nebraska has gone viral after the restaurant's sign message changed when the entire staff left the company.

"WE ALL QUIT" and "SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE" could be seen displayed on the marquee outside of a Burger King, but the story goes deeper than just the message.

KLKN spoke with two employees at the store who said they quit because of poor management.

“They wanted to put up a sign to say, you know sorry there’s really not going to be anyone here,” former general manager Rachael Flores told KLKN. “Just kind of a laugh to upper management. “That got put up yesterday before we opened, and I didn’t think anybody was going to notice it, because we did just one sign, and then it went pretty crazy on Facebook. I got a call from my upper management and they told me I needed to take it down.”

Flores had just put in her two week notice, followed by eight other coworkers. She had been general manager of the store since January.

“They have gone through so many district managers since I’ve been GM,” she said. “No one has come to the store to help me out. They’re so in and out.”

She said the company had employees working in a kitchen with no working air conditioning for weeks. At one point, the kitchen reached temperatures of over 90 degrees, and Flores herself ended up in the hospital for dehydration.

Flores said when her boss found out, they responded by saying she was a "baby."

“I just stayed to help Rachael out,” former employee Kylee Johnson told the news station. “She’s my best friend. She’s been with me through a lot. I just want to help her as much as I can. I knew what was going on staffing wise. We were just waiting for more people to come then and we got nobody.”

The employees said management had no idea the sign was going up, and when they joked about it one day, they decided to follow through the nest.

Flores said her boss said to hand in her keys the next day, and that she was fired.

The location is still open, but new-hires are leaving days after starting. She believes other locations are dealing with the same issues, but haven't been as vocal.
